Star Aniseeed is also known as Star aniseed or badian, the flavour and aroma are liqourice-like and distinctly star anise. It is often broken into smaller pieces & added to rice dishes. One of the key ingredients in Chinese 5 spice is a common ingredient in oriental cooking. It is a spice that closely resembles anise in flavour, obtained from the star-shaped pericarp of Illicium verum, a medium-sized native evergreen tree of northeast Vietnam and southwest China.
