Chili pepper pods are the fiery hot offerings from the berry family. Fresh Chilies are usually dried to preserve them for long periods of time. The most common use of dried chilies is in the powder form. But they are also extensively used as coarse crushed flakes or even whole in certain dishes. Chilli powder is commonly used in Indian cuisine to make food spicier. Used in moderation it adds a lovely red glow and a sharp hot heat to dishes. It adds a wonderful spicy touch to tomato-based sauces.
